Support after accidents and falls

Tension can remain long after falls or accidents

Accidents and falls can affect the body in ways that are not always immediately obvious. Even minor incidents can create patterns of tension within muscles, joints, and the nervous system.

Craniosacral therapy offers a gentle approach that supports the body in releasing these patterns and restoring balance following physical impact.

A gentle, non-invasive approach that works with the body

Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is a gentle therapy that works with the body and nervous system.

Taking a tailored approach for each client, the practitioner listens for areas where the body may be holding tension or restriction — often within the spine, skull, pelvis, and connective tissues.

Rather than forcing change, this approach allows the body to move towards balance in its own time.

Supporting the body after shock or injury

When the body experiences a fall, collision, or sudden impact, the nervous system can remain in a protective state.

Even after the initial injury has healed, the body may continue to hold patterns of tension that affect movement, posture, or comfort.

Craniosacral therapy gently supports the body in settling these patterns, helping restore ease and mobility.

Common symptoms after a fall or accident

Each session is tailored to the individual, focusing on reducing strain, improving nervous system regulation, and restoring more comfortable function.

Persistent pain after a fall

Ongoing discomfort in the back, neck, or joints following an accident.

Stiffness or restricted movement

Difficulty moving freely or reduced mobility after an impact.

Head or neck tension

Tightness around the head, neck, or shoulders following a sudden jolt.

Sensitivity after injury

Areas of the body that feel unusually tender or sensitive.

Craniosacral therapy helps support the body to move out of this heightened state, allowing for greater calm and ease.

Lingering body tension

A feeling that the body has not fully relaxed since the incident.

This work helps support deeper rest and recovery, releasing areas of muscular and tissue tension to relax and return to health.

Support for feeding, sleep, pain, emotional wellbeing, and nervous system regulation

Whether you are seeking support for your baby, your child, or yourself, this work focuses on understanding what the body is holding and gently supporting it to release.

Introducing myself

I’m Lisa Mann and I’m a registered Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist. I have also just graduated from a nine-month top-up paediatric craniosacral therapy course. This builds on my core training and deepens my expertise in the gentle and effective work with newborns and babies, and younger (under 8 years old) children. I will also be offering a range of massage therapies from September 2026.

So why did I train in biodynamic craniosacral therapy? Simply put, a very personal, difficult birth experience, a difficult baby feeding experience, and poor baby sleep, not forgetting personal sleep deprivation. My experience took me through oral dysfunction, baby birth trauma, and speech issues. Along the way, one amazing provider suggested I train in craniosacral therapy because of my growing passion to help other families recover from similar experiences. Little did I know at that time that craniosacral therapy was equally for older children and adults! Within three weeks I had committed thousands of pounds in an intensive two-year course in exactly that, alongside living anatomy and physiology for another nine months simultaneously. Training in biodynamic craniosacral therapy was much more of a vocation, and the passion I have for supporting anyone from newborns, babies to older children and adults is off the scale. When it comes to being passionate about what I do, it is, truly a passion that will last many years to come.

What is craniosacral therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle hands-on therapy that works with the nervous system and connective tissues, supporting the body’s natural healing processes.

Can craniosacral therapy help after an accident or fall?

Many people seek craniosacral therapy to support recovery after accidents, falls, or physical shocks, particularly when tension or discomfort persists.

What happens during a session?

You remain fully clothed while lying comfortably on a treatment couch. The therapist uses gentle touch around the head, spine, and pelvis to support areas of tension.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies depending on the individual and the nature of the injury or symptoms.

Should I still seek medical care after an accident?

Yes. Any significant injury should always be assessed by a medical professional. Craniosacral therapy can work alongside appropriate medical treatment.
